In “Breaking Through Fear,” the martial arts therapy group I lead every Saturday, one client commented that breaking her board at the end of group was the first thing she could remember in a long time that she had not hesitated to do. She knew she wanted to do it.
How many things in life do we know for certain that we want? Knowing what we want is the first step in getting what we want. Focusing in on what is truly important allows extraneous and unnecessary details to blur into the sidelines of our life journey. We can move forward in a refreshingly simplistic and focused way, less pulled in multiple directions, less distracted, less confused.
Focus on what you know you want, and don’t hesitate. Grab hold of it, move forward in spite of the inevitable fears that will arise, and break through in the name of what you value most.
