Are you feeling competent and satisfied with some areas of your life while noticing concerning patterns, behaviors, or relationship struggles in other parts of your life? Are you struggling to keep eating and activity in balance? Are you finding it difficult to navigate multiple roles? Do you struggle with persistently feeling down or anxious? Would you like to feel more emotionally equipped during a time of an important transition? I would love to meet you, hear your story, and engage with you in taking a closer look at your patterns in order to move forward in a way that feels better to you.
I’ve been seeing clients for over twenty years, and I have a warm, non-judgmental style with a willingness to be direct. I have specialized experience in the treatment of eating-related concerns (restricting food, emotional eating, binge eating and purging) since 2005, including thirteen years with Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders/Walden Behavioral Care in Atlanta. I am well-equipped to treat anxiety and depression, and I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults. I have a masters degree in community counseling and a doctorate in counseling psychology, both from Ball State University. I completed a pre-doctoral internship at Emory University Counseling Center and a post-doctoral internship at Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders, and I’m licensed in the state of Georgia. Due to the pandemic, I’m currently seeing clients via TeleHealth Zoom sessions.
I’m invested in helping you experience greater empowerment and peace. For more information and to set an appointment, send me an e-mail: angela@angelaschaffnerphd.com. I look forward to meeting you!
