Dr. Schaffner is a 2nd-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and has integrated her expertise in martial arts into her therapy practice. She conducted a “Breaking Through Fear” therapy group for several years at Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders, where members of the group identified fears, learned martial arts techniques, and broke boards as a symbol of engaging in their struggles rather than avoiding them. She now conducts presentations and workshops on self-defense and related topics. E-mail Dr. Schaffner to schedule a speaking engagement at angela@angelaschaffnerphd.com.
The next scheduled “Breaking Through Fear” workshops are on Thursday, June 15, 2018 from 11:00-noon, and Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 11:00-noon. The cost is $65 for one workshop, and you can call Dr. Schaffner at 404-550-7226 to register. At the workshop, you will learn self-defense techniques and 10 strategies for breaking through personal obstacles, so you can move forward and thrive.
Dr. Schaffner can also do 3-5 supplementary sessions with people who already have a primary therapist, but would like to supplement their therapy with an integration of martial arts and therapy in order to confront and overcome fears and obstacles that may be keeping them stuck or holding them back from reaching their goals. Please e-mail Dr. Schaffner at angela@angelaschaffnerphd.com to set an appointment.
